United Way of Olmsted County Celebrates Power of Purpose 2022
The pandemic has reinforced the importance of taking care of each other and United Way’s mission: to unite people and resources to improve lives in our community —so that every person can reach their full potential, no matter their age or stage of life.
UNITED, we can choose to lead with purpose —an active expression of our values and our compassion for others.
Power of Purpose (POP) is a United Way of Olmsted County signature fundraising event, hosted by Women United and Presenting Sponsor Bremer Bank. This event will celebrate and honor the role diversity, equity, and inclusion have in creating and sustaining a thriving community.
The event took place on Tuesday, June 14th, 2022, from 11:00am-1:30pm at Rochester’s International Event Center. Michele Norris, this year’s speaker, is an award-winning journalist and one of the most recognized voices in radio as the former voice of All Things Considered on NPR. Michele engaged our audience in a candid discussion about race, culture, and communication in America. Through this meaningful engagement, we strengthened our communities’ capacities to build a healthy future for all individuals and families, regardless of race or place. Attendees of #POP2022 will make a long-lasting impact for years to come by raising support and awareness for programs working toward universal success and prosperity throughout Olmsted County. Fueled by the generosity of our community, United Way of Olmsted County continuously strives to dismantle systemic, institutional, and historical barriers based on race, ethnicity, ability, and other identities so they no longer determine socioeconomic, education, and health outcomes.
